JJ Grey & Mofro will release THIS RIVER on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. This is Grey's seventh album and his first studio album since 2010's acclaimed Georgia Warhorse. "Many of the new songs," says Grey, "are about being your own worst enemy, and about normal folks pushing themselves over the edge." Grey's lyrics and slice-of-life scenarios are filled with honest detail, helping to bring his emotionally complex characters to life. His gritty vocals and punchy horn arrangements add even more depth to the lyrical album. Grey's fervent delivery and the expert musicianship of the band pull the listener deep inside each track, making THIS RIVER a deeply moving and engaging musical statement. "I took my time and I'm happy for it," says Grey.

Born into a family with generations-old roots in rural Florida, Grey was raised with a combination of backwoods wisdom and old-school blue-collar values. He heard music at barbeques and in local juke joints, all the while developing a deep love and respect for the land and its culture. Grey’s original songs are inspired by legendary musicians, including Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd, soul greats Otis Redding and Toots Hibbert, country stars George Jones and Jerry Reed, as well as by Grand Ole Opry comedian Jerry Clower. Whether it is a narrative passed down to him from his grandmother or the tribulations of a childhood friend, Grey’s ear for detail rings through in true storyteller fashion.
Grey’s songs have appeared in film and network and cable television programs including House, Flashpoint, Crash, Friday Night Lights, The Deadliest Catch and the film The Hoot. In November 2009, JJ wrote his first film score for the critically acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning documentary The Good Soldier that appeared in theatres and on Bill Moyers Journal on PBS. In 2010, Grey played piano, sang and contributed a song (The Wrong Side) to Buckwheat Zydeco’s Grammy-winning Alligator album Lay Your Burden Down.

Thomas Wynn & The Believers touted as "Southern Rock Muscle - Soulful Rock n' Blues" by The Orlando Sentinel and repeatedly reviewed as UNBELIEVABLE live!! Whether in an intimate setting or on a massive festival stage, they infectiously impact every listener.

TW&TB has shared the stage with national acts such as Gov't Mule, Leon Russell, Jim Weider, Kevn Kenny, Colt Ford, Drive-By Truckers, Donna The Buffalo, Dumpstaphunk, Blackberry Smoke, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Leftover Salmon, JJ Grey & Mofro, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Honey Island Swamp Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Lee Boys, Charlie Daniels, Over The Rhine, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe . . .

The sibling-led quintet from Orlando personifies a new era that crosses generations with love, heartbreak, and love again with just really, really, really good music . . . pieces of Dylan, The Band, Petty, and Young, and a bit of Jennings, Redding, and CCR seep through The Believers' makeup. TW&TB has found a way of crafting a new vein of music -- gritty, yet pure uplifting Soul Rock -- a mixture of the classics, R&B and gospel, creating a sound that has an identity of its own ~ rugged, yet tender mixture of rock and country, sprinkled with southern soul ~ tunes brutally honest & heartfelt, the themes go beyond years of drugs, heartbreaks and hypocrisy to deliver a message of hope.

In the 1970s, their father, Tom Wynn, was the original drummer of Cowboy, one of Capricorn Studio's (Allman Brothers) legendary bands. His influence, as well as their faith, partly expressed through leading worship ministries at church, undoubtedly shaped their songwriting and musical interests. Their deeply rooted upbringing certainly laid the foundation for what the Wynns bring to The Believers' sound.

Wynn's passionate lyrics and emotional delivery, coupled with his songbird sister Olivia's soulful, yet haunting harmonies, backed by a tight, fiery band has built the reputation for don't-miss powerful, explosive LIVE performances, while developing an incredible fan-base loyalty wherever and whenever they play. Led by their powerful vocal harmonies and undeniable musicianship, TW&TB full band has been touring nationally, as well as the brother & sister Duo, an unplugged version of their heartfelt take on modern R&B-fused soul-- and this year, the band's itinerary expands to the Pacific Coast and in between. . .

Their debut album The Reason (2009) is a well-crafted studio sampling of Wynn's many tunes, but the band's choice to self-produce their sophomore album "Brothers & Sisters," released January 2012, was recorded live in-studio, a truer representation of the emotion and intensity experienced in their live performances.

Gratefully sponsored by Gibson, D'Addario Stings, and Drilley's Shoes . . .

Voted Best Rock ( & Country) Band three years running -- 2009, 2010, 2011 -- Central Florida's Orlando Weekly Readers' Choice Awards. Best Live Act Omni 2011.
